Think you might be pregnant? While taking a pregnancy test is the first step in finding out, there are symptoms to look out for that could indicate you’re pregnant.
This article will highlight those symptoms. However, if you’re looking for free pregnancy testing near you, contact Assure Women’s Center today to schedule a confidential appointment.
Early Symptoms of Pregnancy
During early pregnancy, a unique mixture of hormones tells your body to prepare to sustain and nourish the embryo. These hormones can cause you to experience the following symptoms:
Missed Period: A missed menstrual period is often the first and most obvious sign of pregnancy. If your cycle is regular and your period is late, it’s time to consider the possibility of pregnancy.
Nausea with/without vomiting: Nausea, commonly referred to as morning sickness, can occur at any time of the day and be accompanied by vomiting. While this symptom usually goes away later in pregnancy, for some women, it can stick around for the whole pregnancy.
Breast Changes: Early pregnancy can cause your breasts to become tender, swollen, or more sensitive. The areolas (the area around the nipples) may also darken and enlarge as your body prepares for breastfeeding. If you notice these breast changes, there’s a chance you might be pregnant.
Fatigue: Feeling unusually tired is another common symptom of pregnancy. If it’s been harder to wake up lately, pregnancy could be to blame, especially if your fatigue is accompanied by other early pregnancy symptoms.
Frequent Urination: during pregnancy, your blood volume increases. This causes your kidneys to produce more urine. If you’re going to the bathroom more than usual, there’s a chance you might be pregnant.
Where Can I Get Free Pregnancy Testing?
Pregnancy tests are widely available at most drug stores, but we offer free, medical-grade pregnancy testing in our office. Your results will be explained by our staff—and if your result is positive, you will also be offered a limited ultrasound (which is essential for confirming your pregnancy).

"Cannot say enough good things about this place. When I had no where to turn, I was referred to Assure. From the beautiful place, to the friendly staff, and the incredible nurses...I could not have asked for a better experience. Every nurse I met there was so helpful, they educated me on things I had no idea about, answered every question from medical facts and not their opinions. They know what they are doing there. This place is the most pro-women place I've been." - Quin
