Some of you might think that sex trafficking could not happen in a place like Omaha, Nebraska. However, statistics say that it is a rapidly growing problem. At least 2,000 people in the state of Nebraska, mostly young women, are being forced to work as prostitutes.
Sometimes girls are pressed into it by family members or someone close to them. Others find that a boyfriend is suddenly forcing them to have sex with other men and keeping the money. Or it is a total stranger that is controlling their lives, keeping them a prisoner.
What are some warning signs that this might be happening to someone you know? Do you notice that their boyfriend or the people around them have become very controlling and do not allow them to spend time with you? Has their personality changed? Do they appear frightened or upset? These might be signs that they are being forced into prostitution.
